We’re kicking off the new year with a challenging small series project!
In collaboration with Sanura we are producing the X-Tray, a new sustainable solution to recoup and reuse heat from hot waste water. Sanura has engineered an innovative product, which can be used in the shower cabinet to heat up cold water using warm waste water. The simple heat exchange process yields an efficiency of up to 40%.
The challenge for us at Kupron was the size and the volume of the product. By applying Mucell technology we were able to reduce the volume and in mold pressure significantly. The part will be produced out of a full aluminum tool using recycled plastics. So far the first trial runs have been successful and we are gearing up for the production of the first batches of X-trays.
The first picture shows the first build in X-tray into a shower cabin, the second picture shows a detailed picture of the Mucell part produced by Kupron.
A few key facts in this project:
• Fully aluminum small serial tool
• Mucell produced parts reducing the volume by 10%.
• Moldflow done in-house to optimize injection molding set-up
• Produced using recycled plastic materials
